The Andrew Wszelaki Memorial Foundation Inc. "Honoring a hero"

Welcome to the Andrew Wszelaki Memorial Foundation's facebook page!

As most of you already know our lives were forever changed when our dear friend, Andrew Wszelaki, was diagnosed with cancer. After a brave two year battle we lost Andrew at the age of 26.

In honor of his last wishes The Andrew Wszelaki Memorial Foundation Inc. (AWMF) was formed and became an official non-profit in 2008. The AWMF raisies money by hosting many community based events each year, these events are run solely by the work of volunteers. In 2012, the AWMF partnered with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. To date, the AWMF has donated almost $20,000 to fulfill the wishes of Brayden, 9, who was able to experience a Disney Cruise with his family; Charlie, 15, who attended the 2013 NCAA Men's Final Four in Atlanta; and Addy, 3, whose family was able to travel to Disney World in 2014. The AWMF also sponsors two $500 scholarships at the South Milwaukee High School, annually. Andrew’s loved ones are honored to carry on his legacy, and there is no doubt that he is looking down on us with pride. He taught us all to enjoy life no matter what may happen and take every opportunity to make someone smile.

Please join us in remembering our dear friend and helping others. Watch for updates on upcoming events we have planned for the future and please tag your photos of Andrew to add to our albums. Times and dates for upcoming meetings will also be posted right here on facebook, all are welcome and your help is appreciated. If you would like more information please contact Matt Danek at

In memory of Andrew, we thank you.

That discussion led To opening this group and Former Alderman Mary C. Nelson And her Daughter Annie and many others joined forces to sign a petition to Restore The lagoon (thus the name of the group) This group has a Face book page as well now and That page will update you on current events .
